Nugg App Makes Ordering Medical Marijuana Easier

Every connoisseur of marijuana can appreciate a weed man that delivers. If he/she doesn’t deliver, then it is optimal for them to have your order ready to go when you arrive. USC students Alex Milligan, Collin Mann and Kam Babazade, took it upon themselves to get technological with this convenience for medical marijuana patients by creating the Nugg app, a medical marijuana ordering system.

Nugg was released on 4/20, the smokers’ holiday. It allows users to search for marijuana dispensaries in the area, browse their selection and place orders for pickup or delivery (Nugg does not handle the deliveries. The dispensaries do). To sign up, users must upload a photo of their picture ID along with a doctor’s note. From there, Nugg verifies everything by checking with the doctors. If someone does not have the proper paperwork, they can schedule an appointment with a doctor through Nugg.

The trio’s path to making Nugg a possibility was unconventional. Last year, Milligan, Mann and Babazade raised money through referring customers to the Lyft car service. For every rider they referred, they received $10. Hitting up local college campuses, they signed up 30,000 people and raised $100,000, which they used to start Nugg. The leftover funds will be used to enhance the company to compete with similar apps such as Eaze or Nestdrop.
