Lyle Mitchell, he husband of Joyce “Tillie” Mitchell should probably stay low for the time being. Yes, his wife was arrested for helping murderers David Sweat and Richard Matt escape from Clinton Correctional Facility in New York by providing them with power tools. However, Mitchell had plans to have the tandem of killers to take her husband out when they escaped from the prison! Sweat and Matt are still on the loose, so Mitchell’s husband’s life could still be in jeopardy.
How did we get to this point? Mitchell clearly was not happy at home. The particulars of the married couples’ home life is not public knowledge yet, but Mitchell was looking for something her husband wasn’t providing. This is evidenced by the fact that Mitchell was fucking both Sweat and Matt during her tenure as an employee at Clinton. She started out hooking up with Sweat who she supervised in the prison tailor shop, but that was stopped once another inmate alerted authorities to the relationship. Then, the allegedly well-endowed Matt stepped in and started smashing Mitchell.
It was Matt who persuaded Mitchell to smuggle power tools into the maximum-security prison that they used to break out. Mitchell plotted with Matt and Sweat to kill Lyle Mitchell (who also worked in the prison as a maintenance man) before they fled to a cabin in Vermont. However, Mitchell got cold feet and didn’t meet the criminals when they emerged from a manhole on the other side of the wall. Nevertheless, she has been arrested and is being held on $110,000 bond with a felony charge of promoting prison contraband and a misdemeanor charge of criminal facilitation. It would probably be in Lyle Mitchell’s best interest to get as low as possible while Sweat and Matt are still out on the loose. Though authorities feel that Joyce Mitchell would’ve ended up dead if she helped them escape, what if the two feel some type of allegiance to her for springing them? What if they do operate by a code of honor and want to hold up their end of the bargain? Stay low, Lyle.
