Early this morning, the world was shocked to hear the news that former NFL star Aaron Hernandez was found hanged in his prison cell. This comes nearly a week after Hernandez was acquitted of a double murder. Some felt that his acquittal could mean that he could appeal his previous murder conviction, for which he was serving a life sentence. Though authorities are saying that Hernandez’s death is an apparent suicide, there are others close to the ex-New England Patriots tight end are suspecting foul play.
Hernandez’s former agent Brian Murphy tweeted, “Absolutely no chance he took his own life. Chico was not a saint, but my family and I loved him and he would never take his own life.”

Jose Baez, the attorney who successfully represented Hernandez during his double murder trial is also skeptical. According to Bleacher Report:
According to TMZ Sports, Baez “has launched an investigation on behalf of Hernandez family and they are not buying the suicide story” and “believes this could be a murder either by inmates or the folks who run the prison.”
Hernandez was serving life for the 2013 murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.
