Mike Vick’s Father, Michael Dwayne Boddie, Sentenced To Five Years For His Role In Hampton Roads Heroin Conspiracy

If you’ll remember, last year Michael Dwayne Boddie, father of former star Atlanta Falcons and Virginia Tech quarterback Mike Vick, found himself in some hot water. He was one of twelve people indicted in connection to a large-scale heroin distribution ring in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. For his part, Boddie was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute heroin, conspiracy to launder money and use of a communication facility.

Last Tuesday, Boddie learned his fate. He was sentenced to 60 months (five years) in prison, according to 10 WAVY-TV.

In the original indictment, the twelve suspects were charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute 1,000 grams or more of heroin. Others named in the indictment faced additional charges including possession of a firearm during drug trafficking, money laundering, maintaining a drug-involved premises and use of a communication facility.
