1017 Eskimo/Alamo Records signee Lil Wop dropped Wopavelli 4 last night with a track-listing that screams Halloween. From “Bride Of Chucky,” to “Goul,” and “Pint Of Blood,” Wop’s blend of trap is grimy, with elements of horrorcore and metal. The fourth installment of hisWopavelli mixtape series spans 19 tracks and features production from ChaseTheMoney (Valee, Smokepurpp), Digital Nas (Lil Yachty, ASAP Ferg, Sheck Wes), and more.
Chicago’s Lil Wop, aka Louis MacPherson, grew up idolizing hometown heroes like Chief Keef, Fredo Santana, and G Herbo, but he always held a special place for ATL’s Gucci Mane. Playing on Gucci’s nickname Guwop, he crowned himself Lil Wop and moved to Atlanta to take his rap career to the next level. He caught the ear of Gucci Mane himself, who signed him to his fledging 1017 Eskimo label. Since, Lil Wop has rapidly expanded his fanbase on the strength of the Wopavelli mixtape series and his signature blend of grime and trap.
