On Friday, J. Stalin and DJ Fresh share their long-awaited 2013 follow-up double-disc LP, Miracle & Nightmare On 10th Street Pt. 2, their tenth album together in 11 years. Disc 1 leans into darker, nightmare themes while Disc 2 channels blessings and miracles. In tandem with the release, they bring Freddy Krueger to the streets of Oakland in their haunting video for “Nightmare on 10th Street Pt. 2.”

In the video for “Nightmare On 10th Street Pt. 2,” Stalin’s a man of his word — he raps, “had a few enemies, they came up missing,” while Stalin (clad in a striped sweater and brown fedora à la Krueger) and his kin put a body in the trunk of Stalin’s own 1979 88 Delta scraper.

Miracle & Nightmare On 10th Street was inspired by the 1947 Christmas classic Miracle on 34th Street, and Wes Craven’s 1984 slasher film A Nightmare on Elm Street, the double-disc centers on life in the area around J. Stalin’s childhood home on 10th street in the Cypress Village housing projects. Disc 2 hosts a particularly special feature on “Childhood Dreams,” from none other than Lil Chief Baby Wipes, Stalin’s 4-year-old son (wonder how long he’ll let his dad call him that). It’s a 20-track dose of brutally honest street rap and features appearances from Shady Nate, Beeda Weedam, Juneonnabeat, and more. The album comes via EMPIRE.
