Today has been a big day for hip-hop with quality projects dropping from big names, new and old alike. Pitching his contribution to the culture is Atlanta newcomer B.A. The Great. B.A. has a bright future ahead of him as he emerges as one of rap’s new voices. He is cosigned by one of the genre’s premier producers, Mike WiLL Made It, who saw potential in B.A. after seeing him perform one song. After that, Mike WiLL pulled up on B.A. at his Marietta, GA home and made the aspiring star a promise: if B.A. spent a year wholeheartedly putting his life into music and stayed out the streets, he would give him a chance. That chance has come, as B.A. releases his debut mixtape, Cross Town.
The 12-track tape is executive produced by Mike WiLL who has production credits on two of the songs. Also lending their talents on the boards are Go Grizzly, Lo Get Em, Few Beats, Trap Fanatics, Cash Clay Beats, Andre Moss and Bobo Swae, as well as Resource and 30 Roc of Eardrummers.
Packed with pearls of wisdom and rhythmic hooks, Cross Town tells a story of redemption, detailing the lengths B.A. forced himself to go through to keep himself alive.
