Glenn Toby

Jack of All Trades, Glen Toby is a man that seems to have it all and aspiring to get even more.  Entertainment Manager, Philanthropist, Art Collector the man has style, swag and definitely qualifies as a Don…..

Ladies and Gents, Glenn Toby.

Ayana: Hello Glenn thank you for sharing your time with me

GT: Thank you for having me!

Ayana: Okay, so let’s get right into it.   You have your own sports firm, Infinite Sports Technology, you are a renown sports and entertainment manager, who are some of the people you represented and how did you get into the game, did you always have a love of sports?

GT: Yes, sports and music have always been a part of my life. I have had the honor to represent, advise or consult such superstars as LL Cool J, Don King, Asante Samuel, David Banner, Saigon, Actor Lance Reddick Of HBO “The Wire,” Actor Jason Weaver, Olympic Finalist Samyr Laine, Undisputed Champion O’Neill ” The Supernova” Bell.

I partnered with Alonzo Shavers, a licensed NFL Agent and handled marketing and management with a focus on growing the firm. Our clients were; Asante Samuel #22 Atlanta Falcons, Damien Robinson, Antonio Freeman, Josh Evans, Chester Taylor, Benny Sapp, Travis Taylor, William Gay, Tutan Reyes and more.

I brought the hustle and swag of the music industry to our firm. We blew the company up and sold it, at that time for a record breaking amount of money. After we sold that company, I used my share to fund my own company, Glen Toby Enterprises.

We have worked with a wide variety of clients in both sports and music and recently developed a division that creates, implements and oversees special projects for high net worth individuals, wealthy families, institutions, governments and world leaders. We’re able to meet and exceed their specific needs and design projects that will change the world.

2. Well damn, *laughter* you’ve accomplished so much and you have so much more to do.  But have you represented any “troublesome” athletes and if so is it difficult to maintain such an athlete?

GT: Most young men from our community are deeply troubled by nature of our experiences, environment or lack of access to power, purpose or a platform to benefit from their talent, skills or ideas. I welcome and embrace people that don’t have a voice, support system or advocate on their team. The Hood is Good, It’s just misunderstood.

3. I like that saying a lot.  I’ve never heard truer words Now, you started the “Book Bank Foundation” which I am personally familiar with. It is a wonderful organization might I add.

GT: Thank You, we strive to give our all to the ones who are struggling and cannot do for themselves. It’s my life’s work.

Ayana: What made you start this foundation and what were you hoping to achieve?

GT: I realized at a young age that Education was my key to freedom from a state of ignorance, violence, death or prison. I have used my life experience and the resources I have developed over the years, along with a Celebrity support base to bring educational resources to men, women and children all over the world. Our body of work is extensive; hundreds of events, giveaways, etc., as well as many thousands of hours of volunteer time. We’re very proud of our accomplishments.

Ayana: Being a philanthropist takes dedication, generosity, sincerity and time. Tell us about “Shelters from the Streets,” and where your passion to provide help to the homeless derived from and what are you going to be doing on the bus tour this week?

GT: We enter shelters throughout the entire 5 Boroughs of NYC. We also go into the subways, tunnels, under the bridges and anywhere we can find people on need. We share words of encouragement and inspiration and issue food, clothing, books, toys, games, medical supplies, and more. It’s a blessing for us to be able to do this event again in our 10th year.

Ayana: What are your needs for the tour?

GT: This year we need more volunteers and more supplies. We can never have enough hygiene and baby items.  We have such a demand and shortage of supplies and tools to assist those in need.

This year a representative named Derrick from DHS made it clear that we were not welcome back into their shelter system because we brought rappers to our previous events. We were shocked and dismayed. Some of our biggest supporters to date have been 50 Cent, Swiss Beatz, Saigon, Tru Life, And I am a rapper by nature. Check me @ www.sweetyg.net

Ayana:  A rapper? Okay so then my next question makes sense.  On top of everything else, you found time to write a children’s book, “Lil G faces the Brooklyn Bully.” I love that title and it definitely has some hip-hopness to the title!  I think Biggie Smalls when I hear the word bully. Were you bullied as a child? What made you write a children’s book about bullying instead of something else that would appeal to adults?

GT: I was never physically bullied but I felt the “effects of being an outcast because I was homeless and always fighting due to a lack of resources like many children. Of course I was teased, isolated and not able to participate in many activities and maintain a stable environment. Mental and physical abuse parallel one another and children generally don’t have a voice or find it difficult to find a way to get help or send a warning signal.

Ayana: And what a great way to give back, by writing this book and helping the homeless, very commendable. Most people make it and forget where they came from so it’s refreshing to see someone actually giving back to their community.  I understand you are an avid art collector. What are some works you’ve collected?

GT: I personally own a few of JEAN MICHEL BASQUIAT’s pieces. My favorite is his “untitled suite” #83/85. I bought it from his family Estate from his dad Gerard through my Art Dealer Jeff at Pop Art International in Soho on February 27, 2002. My other favorite piece from the collection is [Rinso] Swiss beatz has this one too, along with Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock and a ton of other serious collectors.

Ayana: I’m loving how your name dropping let it be known who you be Glenn!  Do you find that women are attracted to art collectors or do you find yourself introducing females to the “world of art” so to speak?

GT: It is actually both, art is an extension of my soul and the World is my canvas. Some ladies know a great deal about art and those that don’t, I’m a Great teacher.

Ayana: What does Glenn Toby look for in a female?

GT: First on my list is Loyalty, Strength and Intelligence. Second is good looks, style and that female sensitive nature along inner Beauty. Looks wear out, a good look never does.

Ayana:  I need to jot down some of these slick one liners your dropping during this interview.  What do you think most females are lacking today?

GT: Discipline, grace and class. Woman can influence men’s choices and behavior. What would happen if they demanded excellence and a high quality of life?
Ayana: Awesome, and your 100% right. Men only treat us how we allow them to. I agree that we have to stop settling and go for ours.  What is the #1 turn off for you?

GT: A woman with no compassion, drive or self-control.
Ayana: You have accomplished so many big fetes and you still have so much more to go, what’s the next big thing for Glen Toby?

GT: I want to build communities, help guide Kings to their thrones and build Kingdoms.

Ayana: At the rate you’re going I do believe that this will happen and I hope it does sooner than later for the sake of our young princes and princesses.  Please leave some encouraging words for anyone out there that’s on the grind and is feeling discouraged or deterred.

GT: We can all change our destiny. Our past is Evidence, our today promise for a better tomorrow.
Any Sin, Any Failure, Any Mistake can be corrected.

Ayana: Boom!

BE GREAT!
