There are rappers all over chomping at the bit for a deal with Cash Money Records, but as for one hip-hop legend, it’s not the place for him. The short relationship between Busta Rhymes and Cash Money Records seems to have come to an end. Busta signed with Birdman and Slim in 2011, however, Bussa Bus has announced recently that he is leaving the hip-hop powerhouse on good terms to Sway Calloway on his Shade 45 show, Sway In The Morning.

There were apparently issues with his upcoming sequel to his 1998 album, E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event): The Final World Front, E.L.E. 2. Busta said, “For me, with this particular project and all of the sacrifice that went into it — recording the album for five years, I lost Chris Lighty making this album, I lost my father making this album. The shit I was putting into this album, I’m not compromising my vision for it. So if I feel like if, in the slightest way, we ain’t facilitating everything necessary for the vision to be seen through and executed in the way that I’ve been envisioning this shit for the last five years, let me live and die in my own own inequity,”

He continued,”I just had a conversation with Bird like, ‘Listen, bro. I’m grateful and everything is love with us, but I just gotta see this through the way that I wan’t to see this through.’”
