It’s totally healthy for every serious artist out there to feel that they are the best at what they do. Why else would you be doing it if you didn’t think your shit was the hottest. This mindset is most evident in the world of rap. Every rapper thinks they’re the best doing it and if someone disagrees, it could cause problems. Other than extreme circumstances, these arguments stay on wax or in interviews, but sometimes people do get hurt. It’s rare for friends to beef with each other this way, but such an occurrence happened in the Bronx, NY during the wee hours of Saturday morning.
There were reportedly 30 people gathered to film a rap video at a Bronx bodega at around 1 in the morning. Bodega owner, Ali Abdul said that a verbal altercation took place between two men who he knew as friends about who was better. Things got so heated that they even began spitting on each other. The argument ended when one of the quarrelers shot his 37-year-old victim five times. He allegedly pistol-whipped the assailed as he laid on the ground bleeding. Abdul described the two parties involved as “best friends” from what he understood, as they frequented the shop.
The victim was rushed to Lincoln Memorial Center and is listed in critical condition. He is expected to live. Police are still looking for the shooter.
