Days before Christmas, New Jersey police got the best gift a police officer could give to themselves or their superiors. They busted a seemingly big time drug mill in Dunellin, New Jersey. It is believed the state troopers have interrupted a major drug ring in the state.
The New Jersey State police busted 34-year-old Jeffrey Groth during a stop on December 15th on Interstate 78 in Tewksbury. A vehicle search uncovered close to three hundred bricks of heroin that Groth had on his person. According to State Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Flynn, Groth was pulled over as part of an “investigative stop.”
After pulling Groth over and finding the stash, police obtained search warrants for his 2010 Nissan Altima and his home on 3rd street in Dunellin. They had quite the discovery when the search was executed. The home was stocked with a variety of drugs. In Groth’s home, police found 3-5 kilos of heroin valued at $280,000, 20 kilos of cocaine valued at $800,000, pound of marijuana valued at $6,000 and $40,000 in cash. That’s more than a million dollars in drugs found the same day as Groth was pulled over with 300 bricks of dope. Authorities also found packaging products and equipment, evidence of a sophisticated drug operation.
Groth was taken to Middlesex County Jail on $200,000 bond with the 10% option. He is charged with “possession of heroin and cocaine and marijuana, intent to distribute all three drugs, maintaining a production facility and money laundering.”
Needless to say, it was a “Blue Christmas” for Jeffrey Groth. His case will be prosecuted by the New Jersey attorney general.
