I have never been a fan of Nicki Minaj. Reason being, I am a true Hip Hop fan. I love the lyrics, the culture and I felt that she made a mockery of the art. The clown costumes, the bullshit etc. However, there is no denying that this young woman is a success story despite the negative opinions formed against her and I am personally pleased with her transformation, I think she looks beautiful without all that circus shit. She was always beautiful underneath the nonsense but you gotta do what you gotta do to sell a brand and records correct? Nicki has finally taken the time to revamp her style by firing her stylists and hiring new ones. She admitted that without her make up and wigs she felt naked, vulnerable and that doing the photoshoot for Elle was a real accomplishment to her.
She also dished on being bullied as a child having come from a different country and having an accent.
I can relate, my family is from Jamaica and back then before it was “cool” to be Jamaican, we were teased as well. Ya bastids.
Nicki dishes on taking over the world and being a boss and so much more in the next issue of Elle, due out March 18.
Will her Barbs follow her lead and give up the clown costumes as well? Hope so…..
