An Ohio mother is in jail for a rather bizarre attack on her son. Police were called to Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton on Monday afternoon where a 15-year-old boy was being tended to after being allegedly stabbed by his mother. 57-year-old Yolanda Veasley over pork chops.
The boy’s aunt told police that her sister was outraged after cooking pork chops the night before. Vaesly was angry because after dinner, she had prepared four pork chops to be saved for meals later. When she woke up, she saw that only one pork chop remained. She apparently questioned her son who lied about eating them. In response to the lie, Veasley began throwing knives at the boy.
“I had knives coming at my face,” said the boy. He said his mother had been drinking and he tried to run from her assault. He said a foot-long kitchen knife sliced his thumb open. The injured teen the called his aunt to who took him to the hospital. The wound to his thumb required stitches.
At the apartment, police found a knife matching the boy’s description. It was in the sink with dried blood stains on it. There was a white, blood-soaked towel on the kitchen counter as well. Veasley said that she threw the knife after the boy had knocked her down. Police officers notified her that throwing knives was not a justifiable response, Veasley is reported as responding with, “yeah, you’re right.”
It is not reported what Veasley’s ultimate punishment will be for the attack over missing pork chops.
