Many people in the nation paid special attention to the murder trial of Aaron Hernandez. That resulted in the former standout tight end for the NFL’s New England Patriots being found guilty of the murder of Odin Lloyd, semi-pro linebacker and boyfriend of Hernandez’s girlfriend’s friend. He now sits in prison with a life sentence, waiting to go to trial for two more murders. But, what happens to the guy who supplies murder weapons for killers? Aaron Hernandez’s gun supplier was 24-year-old Oscar Hernandez, Jr. (no relation) of Orlando. He recently got a two year sentence for shipping guns to the former Patriot.

Oscar Hernandez didn’t supply the gun Aaron Hernandez used to kill Odin Lloyd in 2013, but as part of a plea bargain, he admitted to shipping several guns from Florida to Massachusetts to Aaron Hernandez in January. He pleaded guilty to charges that included gun conspiracy and lying to a grand jury. He was sentenced to two years, but will receive credit for a year of time served. “There is no question that I deserve my punishment,” said the gun seller. “I made a bad choice, and I have learned from that bad choice.” His status as a first time offender is probably why he received such a light sentence.

As for Aaron Hernandez, he is set to stand trial on the 21st of this month for the killing Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado, who prosecutors say he killed after an altercation in a nightclub. He has pleaded not guilty.
