These were the words that Ashley Casey Martin posted on Facebook along with a photo of herself with two black eyes and a reddened nose that alarmed many. What kind of hooligans would jump a woman with a 3-year-old child in Walmart? None. Martin made the whole incident up. What appeared to be brutal injuries were nothing more than a bad makeup job.
Martin’s original post was deleted on Facebook, but not before users could grab screenshots. The Texarkana Police Department also deleted their post (because they learned Martin is “emotionally disturbed”) stating that they “believe the post to be fake” and “the injuries… are highly questionable.” Walmart also denies any violent incidents going down at this location in Texas.
Martin was determined to incriminate Black men, posting another unconvincing photo with the words:
“Here is your police report. Sorry I got jumped by three African American young men. I have 2 black eyes and nose still is bleeding, and somehow I am in the wrong. Enough for people to say it was makeup, how embarassing and very rude quite frankly. I don’t want you pitty (sic) attention anything. I’m just warning there are dangerous people in Texarkana be careful. They did this to me for no reason in front of my 3 year old. At Texas side Walmart.”
She has since deleted all of her social network accounts. But, doesn’t her makeup job comparable to Heath Ledger as The Joker in The Dark Knight?
