If you don’t know by now, Sean “Diddy” Combs can’t stop and he won’t stop. The legendary entrepreneur seems to succeed in any venture that he undertakes be it music, fashion, business or entertainment. If you don’t know, Diddy has also thrown his hat into the ring in the educational field. Through his Combs Enterprises and along with educator Dr. Stephen Perry, Diddy opened the Capital Preparatory Harlem School in 2016. Capital Preparatory Schools was founded by Dr. Perry in 2012. The vision began in 2005 when Dr. Perry opened the Capital Preparatory Magnet School in Hartford, CT. The schools educate children in the pre-K through 12th-grade range.
With schools in Bridgeport, CT and Harlem under the Capital Preparatory Schools umbrella, today, Diddy announced that a third school will be opening in the Bronx on the Instagram page for his Combs Enterprises. He also put his money where his mouth is by pledging $1,000,000 of his own money for the project. For the caption, he wrote in part:
I know from my own experience that receiving a great education makes a huge impact on a child’s future. I want our kids to have access to everything they need to succeed, in school and life. Which is why I’m also pledging $1,000,000 to help give our kids every advantage possible.
This is bigger than just me, this is my passion, this is my calling, and we still have lots of work to do … so LET’S GOOOO!!!
According to the Capital Prep website, the school’s mission is as follows:
