Love him or hate him, you can’t take away from Nick Cannon’s hustle and grind. The man knows how to get to the bag and has managed to stay relevant from his childhood until now. This week, Nick stopped through The Red Pill podcast, hosted by TMZ’s Van Lathan, to discuss his impressive career. In addition to his life and professional accomplishments, Nick and Van discussed why the city of Atlanta is so prevalent in the entertainment industry, the difference between mental illness and mental fatigue and voting in America.
One of the most interesting parts of the discourse is Nick Cannon’s comments on rap. If you’ll remember, Nick was a rapper back in the day and, though his bars weren’t well-received by all, he has some hit records under his belt. Regardless of what you have to say about his prowess on the mic, Mr. Cannon feels like he can’t be fucked with when it comes to rapping. “I feel like I’m better than 90% of the rappers out there. I freestyle so well that I don’t even do it no more,” he boasted. “Like, if you watch Wild ‘N Out, everybody else is, like, preparing and writing shit and bars. I been doin’ this shit. My freestyle is crazy.”
Though he considers them legends in the game, Nick also goes on to say that he feels like he would defeat the likes of Will Smith, Lil Wayne, Drake and Andre 3000 in a freestyle battle. Check out a clip of the discussion from Van Lathan’s IG page and the full Red Pill podcast episode below.
