In March of 2016, Chicago’s most influential drill artist Chief Keef tweeted that he was retiring from rapping. The announcement came after Keef had slowed down considerably on his booth work. That didn’t last long, however. Like other emcees such as JAY-Z, Nicki Minaj and Lupe Fiasco who also announced that they were “retiring,” Keef couldn’t stay off the mic for long. This year alone, he has released several projects, including two entries for his The Leek series, as well as the first two volumes of The GloFiles. His last project was Back From The Dead 3, which hit the streets on Halloween.
Before the year ends, Keef has dropped his ninth project of 2018 in the form of The Leek Vol. 6. The 12-track effort includes contributions from Keef’s cousin and GloGang affiliate Tadoe (who appears on three songs) and the great OJ Da Juiceman. Oddly, the project does not include “Awesome,” a new track Sosa released a video for earlier this week.
